My name is Sherron Truax, and I have a passion for Santas and have never outgrown my love for dolls. So now I have the best of both worlds. I have studied many mediums from oils, china painting, pastels, watercolors and cake decorating. Fifteen years ago, I began making Santas from porceline heads that you could purchase at craft stores. I would make their bodies and their clothes, but was not always happy to have them in mittens. Then, one day I picked up a Santa Claus magazine and there was an article about a clay sculptor who was offering classes. That was what I asked "Santa" for for Christmas that year. I took my first class that February and have been hooked ever since. The next year, a friend of mine, who owns a Bed and Breakfast, had Jack Johnston teach

at her B&B. I have taken two other classes from Jack and just

finished his Masters class. I have also taken classes from

Judith Klawitter and Lebba Kropp.
